Featured in Sunset Magazine!

In 2011 we set a goal to be in Sunset Magazine and in August 2017 our goal was achieved! Johanna Silver and her team came to Reno and spent the day at our place interviewing and taking pictures for the article. The night before their visit our friends and family came over to help us clean and arrange so our place could look its very best for this opportunity.

Samantha Stremmel - owner Sierra Water,
an indoor plant store with gifts for the home, garden and soul.

Sam is a Montana farm girl, and with her husband Sutter Stremmel, from Reno, moved to Reno in 2010 after graduating from Montana State University with literature degrees and purchasing Sierra Water Gardens outdoor location in foreclosure. They ran the property as an all outdoor water garden nursery and did as much as they could to maximize their small Truckee riverfront property for a unique retail experience. Retail upfront and relaxation in the back. After running this business for almost 8 years they decided to close it down and change things up. Sutter could focus on their other business across the street, The Wedge Ceramics Studio. Sam opened an indoor plant store across the street in the warehouse that was only supposed to be a pop-up, but it was so much fun she made it permanent. They rented out their outdoor garden location to Yeliz Berg of The Hytch.

The Wedge Ceramics Studio was established by Sam and Sutter in 2011, where they have classes, workshops, memberships and art shows. A lot of local ceramic artists make pots and sell them at Sierra Water for a truly locally made and unique container for succulents and other plants!

Their recent venture has been a family effort with Sutter’s family, developing and opening Verdi Executive RV and Boat Storage.
